Arrive in Lanzhou
Arrive in Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu Province and gateway to the Hexi Corridor. Transfer to your hotel. Evening walk along the Yellow River waterfront and visit the iconic Iron Bridge.

Lanzhou β Zhangye (High-speed train)
Morning high-speed train to Zhangye (approx. 3 hours). Afternoon visit to the Zhangye Danxia Landform β the famous rainbow-colored rock formations, best photographed in late afternoon light. These stunning geological layers create a natural canvas of red, orange, and yellow hues.

Zhangye β Jiayuguan
Morning visit to the Giant Buddha Temple, home to China's largest reclining Buddha. Drive to Jiayuguan (2.5 hours). Afternoon at the Jiayuguan Fortress β the mighty western gate of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall, standing alone against the vast Gobi Desert.

Jiayuguan β Dunhuang
Morning visit to the Overhanging Great Wall and the First Beacon Tower. Drive through the Gobi Desert to Dunhuang (5 hours), the legendary Silk Road oasis that guarded the gateway to Central Asia.

Dunhuang β Mogao Caves & Singing Sand Dunes
A full day at two UNESCO sites. Morning at the Mogao Caves β a millennium of Buddhist art preserved in nearly 500 grottoes. Afternoon camel ride through the Singing Sand Dunes, followed by sunset at the Crescent Moon Spring, a miraculous oasis in the desert.

Dunhuang β Turpan (High-speed train)
Morning high-speed train to Turpan (approx. 4 hours). Afternoon visit to the ancient Jiaohe Ruins β a city carved from raw earth that thrived for over 1,600 years. Learn about the ingenious Karez irrigation system that made desert farming possible.
