Planning Your Silk Road Journey
Best Time to Travel
April-October is ideal for most Silk Road destinations. Spring (Apr-May) and autumn (Sep-Oct) offer comfortable temperatures and fewer crowds. July-August is peak season with the best weather for high-altitude areas.
Visa & Permits
Most travelers need a Chinese visa (L-type tourist visa). Tibet tours require an additional Tibet Travel Permit arranged by us. Central Asia extension tours may need visas for Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, or Kazakhstan.
What to Pack
Layers are essential — desert days are hot, nights are cool. Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, comfortable walking shoes. A light jacket even in summer for high-altitude destinations like Tibet and Qinghai.
Getting Around
Our tours include private vehicles and domestic flights or high-speed trains where applicable. China's train network is world-class — comfortable, punctual, and a great way to see the landscape change.
